The Müvment is a pre-professional dance company based out of Müv Dance & Fitness in Cedar Park and is Directed by Lauren Caffey and Assistant Directors Michelle Barfield.
This company of driven dancers will participate in several performances in the Austin & Cedar Park area, receive training from working choreographers brought in from all over the nation, attend multiple conventions throughout the year, and travel to Los Angeles & NYC to gain knowledge and experience in the life of a professional dancer. We are looking for the serious dancer who possesses a strong passion and devotion to the art of movement. With that being said, The MÜVment Dance Company provides a foundation not only to succeed in the dance world but will also prepare each dancer to be successful in an ever-changing world.
Our goal is to provide a quality dance experience throughout the year, especially during our spring showcase. The MÜVment performance fee will not only include the theater, costuming, and music editing but also in-house choreography // Fee – $450.00
Thanks to the MÜV Staff’s professional connections, The MÜVment Dance Company will have the opportunity to have professional choreographers set pieces on the team. Prices will vary based on choreographer’s fee and on the number of team members.
Along with company dances, all MÜVment Dance Team Members will be given the opportunity to perform solos and duets at competitions throughout the year. Dancers will be responsible for the extra payments for enrollment in these competitions due at the office by a given due date to participate. All routines must be approved by directors. Dates for these competitions will be presented to the team in the fall.
All members will receive new apparel, as well as a team backpack. We will reuse most attire yearly. Apparel fee will be approximately $400 for new members. Returning members fee will be determined based on what you already have.
Company dancers will be required to take a ballet and jazz class once a week during the summer season. Additional classes are highly recommended
During the summer, The Müvment is REQUIRED to attend the MÜV Intensive and at least one Ballet Bootcamp. We would like to take advantage of our outside choreographers and set a piece during the MÜV Intensive. We also encourage members to take advantage of our camps and classes throughout the summer. See muv678.com for more information.
July 9 – 12: Ballet Bootcamp (Select 1 from the 3 Sessions)
Fall 2018: L.A. Intensive (Details Coming Soon)
We will have a Mandatory Choreography Camp-August 10-13 before school starts where we will work on team building, technique, and choreography. It is of the utmost importance for all dancers to attend as it will be the base upon which we build our year.
